Suhrab Soomro “Surahi Sanjh” Program
On August 29, 2026, a birthday celebration titled “Surhi Sanjh” was held at the Sukkur Arts Council to commemorate the birthday of Sohrab Soomro, a renowned Sindhi comedian, humorist, and director. The event was also attended by Gamoon (Asif Pahor), a well-known Sindhi comedian. The event concluded with a musical evening.

Music Departmen Tribute Program
On August 15, 2026, the Music Department of Sukkur Arts Council organized a memorial ceremony to mark the 22nd death anniversary of Ustad Singar Ali Saleem, a renowned folk and classical singer of Sindh. Following the ceremony, melodious performances were presented by renowned Sindhi singer Deeba Sehar, Gul Junejo, Bakhtawar Ali, and Ustad Abdul Ghafoor. The event was a heartfelt tribute to the legendary artist and his invaluable contribution to Sindhi folk and classical music. The performers beautifully presented his memorable compositions, creating an atmosphere of nostalgiaamong the audience.

Literature Department Tre-Moorti Program
On 5 August 2026, the Literary Department of the Sukkur Arts Council organized a program to pay tribute to three renowned Sindhi literary figures—Dr. Hidayat Prem, Ali Akbar Darazi, and Sachal Sarfai. The program was presided over by Dr. Mir Muhammad Shah, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Sukkur IBA University. Abdul Ghani Mehr, Hameeda Utam, and Akhtar Dargahi presented papers on the personalities and literary contributions of the honorees. Family members of the distinguished writers also attended the gathering.
