On 5 August 2026, the Literature Department of the Sukkur Arts Council organized a recognition ceremony to honor three renowned literary figures—Dr. Hidayat Prem, Ali Akbar Darazi, and Sachal Sarfai—for their outstanding creative contributions. The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Mir Muhammad Shah, Pro Vice Chancellor of Sukkur IBA University.

On 18th July 2026, Department of History and Heritage of Sukkur Arts Council organized a Lecture Program on the topic of “The Story of the Efferts made for the preservation, improvement and restoration of the Lansdowne Bridge”. Lectured by: a famous intellectual, writer, activist, columnist Advocate Suhail Latif Memon.
On 11 July 2026, the Fine Arts Department of the Sukkur Arts Council organized a one-day art workshop. During the workshop, Mr. Rafi Riaz, a Sukkur-born artist currently residing in the United States, provided training to students in art and drawing techniques.
On 12 July 2026, the Drama Department of the Sukkur Arts Council organized a tribute ceremony in honor of three renowned actors: Aslam Shaikh, Naila Naz, and Mumtaz Lucky. The department’s Convener, Saleem Raja, along with others, paid tribute to the distinguished artists in recognition of their valuable contributions to the field of drama.
On 12 July 2026, the Drama Department of the Sukkur Arts Council conducted acting auditions for aspiring new student actors. The department’s convener, Saleem Raja, along with Naila Naz and Mazhar Sheikh, served as the judges for the auditions.
On 31 May 2026, the Drama Department of Sukkur Arts Council organized an Eid Mushairo, in which numerous poets from Sukkur and the surrounding areas presented their humorous poetry and received enthusiastic appreciation from the audience.
On 9 May 2026, the Drama Department of Sukkur Arts Council presented a stage play titled “Wife and Downfall” (Zaal ain Zawaal), directed by the renowned actor and director Soharab Soomro.
On 16 February 2026, the Literature Department of Sukkur Arts Council organized the 38th death anniversary commemoration of the renowned Sindhi writer, translator, short story writer, columnist, and intellectual Rasheed Bhatti. The event featured research papers presented by several scholars, including Professor Sarwar Saif, Dr. Abdul Latif Ansari, Sachal Bhatti, Professor Manzoor Bedar, Jabbar Mahar, and Zahid Rahoojo.
